William MALT

The Thetford & Watton Post reported that Private W Malt attended the funeral of his brother John in November 1916
Henry William MALT, Private 45349 of the Royal Defence Corps, previously Private 2792 2/3 London Regiment, was discharged from the army as "No longer physically fit for war service". He was awarded the Victory and British medals and 1915 star
We cannot be certain that this is our William, but he is the most likely candidate found so far.
His records show that he served in the following theatres of war:
- from 8.4.15 to 12.9.15 (British East Africa, German East Africa, Rhodesia, Nyasaland and Uganda)
- from 13.9.15 to 9.1.16 (Gallipoli and Aegean Islands)
- from 10.1.16 to 3.4.16 (Egypt)
- >and in the 1/3 London R from 24.8.16 to 10.10.16 (France & Belgium)
